Why rated gear matters

A recovery pull puts thousands of pounds of force on the rigging. Random tow straps snap, and a snapping strap is dangerous to everyone nearby and tears bumpers and suspension when it lets go. We use rated winch line, proper anchor points and snatch blocks to control the angle, so the car comes out without new damage.

How the recovery is priced

Winch-outs are quoted by the job, not guessed on arrival: how far the vehicle is from a solid anchor, the angle, and how many wheels are off the ground all set the labor. You hear the number on the phone or on scene before any rigging is attached.

Storm and flood situations

After nor'easters and heavy rain, low-lying streets on the East and South Shores flood. Never try to drive or winch a car out of moving water yourself. Once water recedes, we recover the vehicle and flatbed it — flood cars should not be started, since cranking a wet engine destroys it.
